Rev. Preston Weaver
Senior Pastor
A Retired Ordained Elder in the Horizon Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Pastor Preston, affectionally named “Pastor P”, has for over 30 years served at numerous churches in Dallas, Irving, Plano and recently Cedar Hill, Texas. He has also served as Senior Pastor of Kirkwood United Methodist Church, Irving, Texas, Pastoral Counselor and Chaplain at Community Health Services (an outreach health clinic at CitySquare); Senior Pastor at Central Dallas Church; Senior Pastor, Southwood United Methodist Church; Staff Administrator, All Nations United Methodist Church, and Executive Pastor and Outreach Minister at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, where he grew up.
Prior to accepting the call to full-time ministry, Pastor P served in the United States Army (Viet Nam Era Veteran) and was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of E-6; Administrator and Educator for the National/State Leadership Institute on the Gifted and the Talented and Ventura County (California) Schools; a Human Resource professional for the Dallas Market Center, Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Company, Foxmeyer Drug Company, Perot Systems and Brinker International.
Pastor P is a strong proponent of social justice and served on boards of numerous boards for agencies committed to transforming the lives of children, youth, the poor and disenfranchised in the United States and Brazil. Pastor P graduated from Booker T. Washington Technical High School, earned his undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education from Huston-Tillotson University, Austin, Texas; Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University; and studied Educational Psychology at the University of Southern California and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
Pastor P is married to Barbara J. Weaver, and they have raised four children and six grandchildren.
