Thanks to generous donations, Food For Thought is in good shape. We have been given use of a room at Zaragoza Elementary School to store food supplies, and that room has space for other items that the office manager and school nurse say the kids need. Please consider bringing to the church office the following:

  • Underwear, particularly for the youngest kids. The school ranges from pre-K through fifth grade.

  • Deodorant for older students, and other toiletries if you want to clean out your linen closet.

  • Kids' socks, shoes, hoodies, sweaters, coats and gloves. These items don't have to be new; we'll be happy to wash and mend them if needed.

  • The plastic grocery and department store bags you were going to recycle or reuse. Joe V's donated some bags, but this will be a recurring need throughout the school year.

On behalf of the needy families we serve at Zaragoza Elementary, thank you for supporting Food For Thought.

Food for Thought also needs financial help. Your donations will go to support about 40 families at Zaragoza Elementary that are desperately food insecure. Please consider making a donation.

Thank you!

Thanks to our generous volunteers and donors, this is our 10th year serving Zaragoza Elementary! Pictured below are our volunteers with bags they filled for our Food for Thought families at Zaragoza Elementary and prepared food for the teachers’ first day back at school.

It is an honor to work with each one of you. These 10 years would not have happened without the generous spirit of the congregation. You bring peanut butter and other food donations, you give generously at the Communion Rail, you shop for the very best values available, you purchase the food and deliver it to the church, you volunteer to bag and deliver bags for 44 families!

Thank you, Grace UMC family!
